Description
Karl A. Baumgaertel. American: (?-1958) was an accomplished salon photographer active in San Francisco and in Utah in the 1930s. He was a member of the Pictorial Photographers of America who exhibited in the Pittsburgh Salon of Photographic Art, the Chicago Camera Club Century of Progress International Photographic Salon (1933), and the Camera Pictorialists of Los Angeles. His photgraphic archive is at the Bancroft Library, Berkeley, CA This is one of his 1930's photographs of the Grand Canyon.
